Flickr Bickr

I'm moving my pics to Flickr, after being convinced by my friend Sundry last week when she and Mrs. Breedorf came over for a playdate. It was a really successful one - no meltdowns at all! And Theo and Riley found a new use for Charlie's toy box:

Sorry, Mr. Breedorf, but I've giving up Gallery. My simple mind cannot hold all that is required to manage a Gallery. I'm but a simple girl.

So I talked to Gayle King the other day. Gayle "Oprah's best friend" King. I have spoken to Gayle before, so I feel pretty comfortable labeling myself as Oprah's best friend's best friend. This time, though, Gayle called me. It's a real give-and-take relationship we have.

She called to see what I was up to - we talked about crazy Britney a bit. Then I told her about my awesome boss Peggy. My awesome boss who, after she heard about my latest miscarriage, which I learned on the same day Oprah aired Gayle and her visit to Miraval Spa in Arizona, Peggy booked us a trip to Miraval. Gayle was FLOORED. She insisted she break her own rule about mentioning names of companies and asked me to state for all to hear the name of Peggy's company (Lone Buffalo) and where it's located (Ann Arbor, MI) and gave her a huge shout out, telling her she loved her and she rocked.

Peggy listened to it the next day and cried. She got multiple emails from strangers giving her a shout out. It was cool.
Lots more has happened. We sold out house!!! In the worst market in 20 years, we sold our house! The funding just needs to go through, but our buyer is preapproved so hopefully there will be no issues.

We're looking for a house down in San Diego. I'll post pics - and I promise I won't say "This is our final move" ever, ever again.
Check out my adorable kid:
Look, Ma - a perfect fit!

Watch how fun it is to close the door really really fast!

Whoops! Pinched my finger!

(Note that I decide to take a picture of his agony rather than drop the camera and rush to his aid. Mother of the year!)

Gayle King is calling AGAIN

I'm going to be on Gayle King's radio show again! She's calling me in 15 minutes.

I'm telling you - I've got star potential!

Oh, and this guy may buy our house! He's driven by twice and came to our open house yesterday. He's coming back with his kids this week.

He's getting a divorce!! FANTASTIC!!!

Home is Where We Are

We're back in Seattle, after spending three weeks in San Diego.

Did I explain all this before? Well, we're selling our house and that process is a pain, especially the keeping the house spotless part, because with a two year old, there's no such thing as spotless. Everything is spotful. So since Jason is so busy with his business down in San Diego, we decided we would take an extended vaca and visit his parents.

Jason's parents generously put all of us up in their golf course condo and it was a great time. Charlie and his Bubbe spent many hours searching for golf balls, counting numbered paper plates, and searching for the moon. Jase got tons of work down and I took advantage of the built-in babysitter and got a massage, my nails done, and my hair cut by my favorite stylist ever, Kati.

The trip down there confirmed what we suspected - Jason's business has legs, and we need to be down there sooner rather than later if we want to see this through. I think we decided that we do. But selling our house is going slowly. I had a long talk with my mom over all the options we have and we both concluded that there's no easy answer. Do we keep the house empty and up for sale, and rent a small apartment in SoCal until we sell? Do we try to find a renter and hope they treat our house like we've treated the houses we've rented in the past? Do we just stay here and have Jason fly back and forth?

Well, whatever way we do it, we'll make it work. The whole subject is boring and throws me into cold sweats, so let's talk about how smart Charlie is for a minute.

Charlie knows the alphabet. Backwards. He's also into joking with me. I will point to the letter "l" and ask him to tell me what it is. He looks at me sideways with that twinkle, and says, "i"! And then he cracks up. And we do it again and again and again. Then he says, "Silly Mommy!" He also likes to tell me he's a big, big BOY! He's just so cute - I can hardly stand it.

I'm gonna try to fix the photo section and get that linked - wish me luck!
